SAN JOSE, Calif. — Feb 2, 2022– Arrcus, the hyperscale networking software company and a leader in core-to-edge network infrastructure, today announced continuing momentum and strong business growth, closing 2021 with a tripling of its year-over-year bookings from 2020 to 2021. Spurred by demanding network needs, the adoption of the Arrcus Connected Edge (ACE) platform is rapidly expanding across customers in key industries including retail, communications, web and financial services. The company grew headcount at a rapid pace, adding 30% in just the fourth quarter with new CEO Shekar Ayyar at the helm.
Arrcus also announced its 10th US patent in the area of hyperscale networking, this one focused on Segment Routing. Secure and efficient routing has become a mission-critical requirement for cloud, edge, and 5G — the underlying infrastructure powering Web 3.0 applications such as AI/ML for store automation in retail, latency-sensitive AR/VR in gaming, and massive scale for block-chain transactions in decentralized finance. These Web 3.0 applications require a distributed, disaggregated, virtual and software-driven connected edge network to ensure performance at scale. Arrcus’ ACE platform supported by patents like the most recent one for segment routing is ideally built for this new world.
“I am delighted to see us steadily beat our business as well as innovation goals at Arrcus. We are ‘right place, right time’ at the beginning of a massive networking refresh,” said Shekar Ayyar, CEO and Chairman at Arrcus. “As the demand for new network services grows among service providers and enterprises, customers are increasingly opting for the flexibility, security, and economics of Arrcus networking.”
Across customers, the Arrcus ACE platform is powering transport network transformation by delivering massive scale and high performance. By creating a common fabric across 5G communications and cloud computing infrastructure from core to edge, the ACE platform provides service providers and enterprises the ability to create new services and deliver superior end-user experiences at a low total cost of ownership (TCO).
“With unprecedented speed and scale needed to accommodate the cloud networking expansion, it’s crucial that more adaptable, software-based networking technologies come to market. Arrcus has built a high-performance networking system designed specifically for the expansion of the cloud, 5G, and edge networking,” said Scott Raynovich, Chief Analyst of Futuriom.
Arrcus’s ACE platform is built on a strong foundation of technological innovation and patents in the network routing domain. The latest patent that Arrcus has been awarded, is for speeding up Segment ID allocation – a critical factor in accelerating internet traffic and content delivery over the web. Segment Routing (SRv6) protocol is getting increasingly popular as telecom carriers look to connect their 5G networks to the IP infrastructure. The distributed allocation of SRv6 Segment IDs helps eliminate latencies and complexities involved in the creation and maintenance of these IDs. This patent adds to others awarded to Arrcus for routing optimization covering topics such as virtualized routing, computational offload, and loop conflict avoidance.
“Arrcus’s ACE platform delivers a network architecture designed for open integration that is secure, scalable and delivers the best routing and switching performance. Our innovative Segment Routing capabilities enable fast rerouting of traffic, helping avoid transient congestion and increase network reliability,” said Keyur Patel, founder, and CTO at Arrcus. “With this, cloud and 5G networks can differentiate the way they deliver applications with unmatched simplicity and scalability.”
In addition, Arrcus announced its participation in the upcoming 2022 Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona. Of note will be a joint demo with VMware to showcase state-of-the-art virtualized, service provider transport networking technology built by combining communications and computing infrastructure at the edge. This solution built using Arrcus’ ACE network platform will be demonstrated in VMware’s stand 3M11 in Hall 3. Arrcus executives and representatives will be on-site in Arrcus’ Executive Meeting Room in Hall 2 – Room 2B8Ex and also at the VMware booth.
